The Confident Preacher

Hi, my name is Dave. 

I was once really scared of public speaking. I thought it was a fear I would never overcome.

Yet I also felt like public speaking (and preaching) was something that God was calling me to. But when I stepped out in faith and gave it a go, I failed. I wasn’t good at it. I wasn’t bold or confident. Instead I was a nervous wreck!

Why was this so? Why did I feel this crippling fear, as someone who was a child of God, filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit?

These were some of the questions I had. So I went on a journey with God to find some answers. And discovering His truth set me free.

I discovered what His word said about me and my identity in Him. I learnt that there were gifts He had given me in seed form that needed to be developed for them to reach their full potential. I learnt that there were practical activities and habits I could use to become more confident.

I applied what I learnt and grew in my confidence as a speaker. In fact, I now love speaking in front of others.

With this website I want to share what I have learnt on the journey. I want to help you unlock the message that God has placed on the inside of you to share with the world. I want to help you become a confident speaker and preacher.

Who is this website for?

Any Christian who wants to develop confidence in their public speaking, whether that be inside the church, or outside in other public arenas. Although the content could be applied by anyone to improve their speaking skills, it is specifically written from a Christian worldview, with the intention of it being beneficial to a faith-based audience.
